Proposal for application of plug and expansion port
Purpose / Vision
I propose to augment the plug with an array of microphones to determine audio source direction. This will form a part of the project to localize audio data undertaken by Brent and Burak. In addition to building the device, I plan to use the data collected to control the lighting conditions in the room, such that a spotlight points in the direction of the audio source. The overall vision is to build a sensing system that gives realtime feedback, in order to evaluate the accuracy of the system and use architectural space as a medium for display.
Hardware / Code
In addition to equipment specified by Brent and Burak, lamps will be plugged into the hub and controlled with pulse width modulation.
